Apologies for multiple posting<br>
<br>
Dear All,<br>
<br>
It is my pleasure to announce the talk <font size="+1"><b>"</b><b>Radiomics
and deep learning techniques for quantitative disease assessment
on ultrasound and MRI</b><b>"</b></font><br>
<br>
to be given by: <b>Dr. Qi Zhang, Associate Professor from the
School of Communication and Information Engineering in Shanghai
University, Shanghai, China</b>.<br>
<b>This Thursday 2nd of November 2017</b><b> at 11:00am in Mary
Kinross Room, QMRI</b>.<br>
<br>
Dr. Qi Zhang received his B.S. degree in Electronic Engineering in
2005 and Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2010, both from
Fudan University, Shanghai, China. From 2008 to 2009, he was a
visiting Ph.D. student at the Department of Biomedical Engineering,
Duke University, USA for one year. In 2010, he joined the Institute
of Biomedical Engineering, Shanghai University, China as an
assistant professor. From 2013, he is an associate professor. He has
published 60 peer-reviewed articles and been awarded the Chenguang
Plan in Shanghai. His research interests include biomedical imaging
and image processing, and translational medicine.<br>
<br>
Talk Summary:<br>
<br>
Radiomics and other artificial intelligence techniques such as deep
learning enable identification of quantitative imaging biomarkers to
aid in diagnosis, treatment response evaluation, prognosis, and
individualised medicine. In this talk, Dr. Zhang will focus on
radiomics and deep learning techniques in ultrasound and magnetic
resonance imaging for soft tissues including tumors,
atherosclerosis, and musculoskeletal soft tissues. Dr. Zhang will
present the methods of radiomics, deep point-wise gated Boltzmann
machines and deep polynomial networks, as well as their clinical
applications.<br>
<br>
Hope to see you at the seminar!<br>
<br>
Kind Regards,<br>
Maria<br>
