<p style="line-height:15.0pt;background:white"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">The successful candidate will work on model-based exploration of cortical neuron and neural network models, in particular effects of genetic variants on neural
functions. The modeling work will be carried out in collaboration with statistical geneticists as well as researchers working with stem cells and brain imaging. The goal of the project is to build models for mental phenotypes that are relevant in schizophrenia
and bipolar disorder.</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="line-height:15.0pt;background:white"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">The candidate will work in the cross-disciplinary environment Center for Integrative Neuroplasticity (cinpla.org), a research center set up by the Faculty
of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Presently, CINPLA includes about twenty biologists, physicists, and computer scientists co-localised in the building of Department of Biosciences at UiO. The candidate will develop and use state-of-the-art computer simulation
packages and national supercomputer resources.</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
