Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to announce that we updated our website, http://brainliner.jp, the other day. We are focusing on data-sharing for brain-machine interface research, where the statistical relationship between brain activity data and stimulus/behavioral information about the subject is important.

We still exclusively use neuroshare as our data format for the time being and we are preparing to open-source our Java neuroshare library soon.

In the meantime, if anyone wanted to contribute data to our project, we are happy to do the conversion to neuroshare here, so please feel free to contact me. At this point in time we can create neuroshare files from Blackrock (.nev, .nsX), Plexon (.plx), and matlab formats.

We also created a facebook page for our project, so please feel free to post any comments there.

We are open to working with the community on implementing tools for other data formats (e.g., neurohdf), so we should keep in touch. I will send out another e-mail once we open-source our neuroshare tools.

Though we won't be at SFN this year, we do plan to go to neuroinformatics in Germany. Hopefully we can all meet there.

Sincerely,

Makoto Takemiya
