Dear Pontus:
Thank you for your kind arrangements and message. We are delighted to hear
that the deadline will be extended for another week! We, as a J-node, will
submit 4 posters from J-node PFs: NIMG, Visiome and Invertebrate and NI tools
from my team.
I all understood what we should workout as a demo session. But didn't we have
10 demos per a day and since we have 2 days congress which means that we can
have 20 demos during the congress? If you change the way for the demo session,
please correct me. kind regards of all, shiro
> Dear Program Committee,
>
> The deadline for abstract submissions is on Friday. As usual, most people
> submit the last couple of days. So far, we have 23 abstracts, whereof 5 are
> for demo presentations. With all likelihood, we will postpone the deadline
> by a week. When announcing this on Monday, we will also take the opportunity
> to inform people of some new features. Firstly, we have arranged so that
> every accepted abstract will receive a DOI identification number through
> Frontiers Journal series. Secondly, there are now travel grants available
> for students from the EU. This is made possible by the INCF EU SSA grant.
>
> Those of you who are responsible for a workshop will shortly receive an
> e-mail from our congress arranger, MCI. This letter will include a link to
> the abstract review database, username, password, and some information on
> how to handle the online abstract review module. You will only be directed
> to abstracts of the topics that are relevant for your specific workshop.
>
> We can accommodate up to 150 posters and 10 demos, i.e. no competition for
> poster slots but probably stiff competition for the demo slots.
>
> Poster reviewers: Please review your allocated abstracts and submit the
> following two judgments.
>
> 1. Should abstract be accepted, i.e. is it relevant at all? Yes or No.
>
> a. If no, does it belong with another topic?
>
> 2. Should abstract be one of three abstracts selected for 5 minute oral
> presentation within the format of your workshop? Yes or No.
>
> Demo reviewers: Please review the demo abstracts and submit the following
> judgments.
>
> 1. Should abstract be awarded one of the 10 demo slots? Yes or No.
>
> a. If no, would you like to encourage the submitter to instead present
> a poster?
>
> 2. Would you like to recommend abstract for 5 minute oral presentation
> within the format of a workshop? Yes or No.
>
> a. If yes, which workshop?
>
> We expect the first round of abstract reviewing to be completed 10 days
> after abstract submission deadline. Given that we most likely postpone the
> deadline one week, this would mean review completion by May 19th. Then we
> will need the following few days to finalize things. For instance, the 5
> minute oral presentations selections needs to be agreed upon between the two
> leaders of each workshop and possible additional suggestions by the demo
> leaders must be considered. By the end of that week we want to send out
> letters of acceptance (or rejection) to the submitters to allow them to
> still register for the cheaper early fee (deadline June 2nd).
>
> Any technical questions you might have concerning the online review module
> can be addressed to Marianne at MCI.
>
> (Marianne.Damstroem at mci-group.com)
>
> I will of course be happy to answer any other questions you may have.

> Happy Walpurgis Night,
