*Abstract:*
This Special Session focuses on emerging and rapidly developing areas at
the intersection between neuromusculoskeletal modeling, biomechatronics
and wearable technologies. It will showcase innovative research aimed to
increase our understanding of motor function and impairment as well as
how wearable assistive devices can contribute to modulate, replace or
restore human motor capacity. Furthermore, It will discuss how
subject-specific features of anatomy, physiology, and impairment can be
accounted for in the development of truly personalized assistive
solutions. Finally, it will serve as a forum to examine future key
challenges in the field and promising strategies for addressing them

*Speakers:*
- Hartmut Geyer (Carnegie Mellon University, USA)
- Gregory S. Sawicki (North Carolina State University and University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA)
- Herman van der Kooij (University of Twente and Delft university of
Technology, The Netherlands)
- Cor Meijnecke (Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands)
- Amy Wu (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland)
- Friedl De Groote (KU Leuven, Belgium)
- Jan Veneman (Tecnalia, Spain)
- Nicola Vitiello (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa, Italy)
- Manish Sreenivasa (Heidelberg University, Germany)
- Massimo Sartori (University Medical Center Göttingen, Germany)

*Call for Contributions:*
This Special Session is currently open to poster contributions. All
contributors (i.e. poster and oral) must submit a 2-page abstract
manuscript. All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed. Accepted
contributions will appear in the Conference Proceedings, which will be
published as a book by Springer. Authors of the best papers will be
invited to submit a substantially extended version of their papers for
their publication in a special issue of the International Journal of
Neural Systems (Impact Factor: 6.507). Further information at: Web:
http://neurorob.nre.bccn.uni-goettingen.de/

*Important Dates:*
- Manuscript submission deadline: April 1, 2016.
