The aim is to characterize the produced cells by their gene and protein expression and specifically study the cells’ maturation and electrophysiological functionality both in single cell and network levels. Co-culture systems containing several cell types in 2- or 3D are also established. The group focuses on applications in e.g. in vitro modeling of biological processes and neurological diseases, graft development, and neurotoxicity screening platforms.
Purpose in this position is to develop analysis tools for electrophysiological data. The specific topics of research project will be discussed in detail during the interview of the selected candidates.
The successful applicant has solid experience in biomedical digital signal processing, analysis and programming (especially MATLAB), previous experience of biological data analysis, and good knowledge of related statistical analysis. Previous experience of electrophysiological measurements (in vivo, ex vivo, in vitro) are an advantage. Good communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English are required.
