Scientia PhD Scholarship at UNSW-Canberra for 2017

The deadline for applications is 11th of November 2016

Topic: Can I Trust You, asked the AI: Learning Humans’ Trustworthiness from EEG

Description: Machine-intelligence is leaving the laboratory. The question of when an artificial intelligence agent/robot can trust a human is gaining a greater practical significance than ever before. This project will extend our work on EEG for human-machine teaming and trusted autonomous systems with novel real-time machine learning models to estimate a human’s trustworthiness level during the control of a swarm of robots. The project will use an augmented virtuality environment that streams a live swarm-robotics task inside a virtual environment operated by a human. You should have a degree in cognitive science, computer science, mathematics or electrical engineering, and an aptitude to innovate.
