Applications are invited for a researcher to work on the Wellcome Trust funded project: EpiChange: Quantifying longitudinal changes after epilepsy surgery. The goal of the project is to understand how EEG recordings change after epilepsy surgery, and if those changes relate to patient outcomes. This project involves close collaboration between clinical and computational experts.
You will be responsible for the analysis and interpretation of a unique existing longitudinal EEG dataset from patients who have undergone epilepsy surgery, where outcomes are known. This opportunity gives us the ability to probe how changes in brain dynamics (reflected on EEG), relate to changes in brain structure (related to surgery). Crucially this will be done in individual subjects longitudinally, rather than cross-sectionally.
You should hold a PhD (or close to completion) in one of the following areas: Neuroscience / Engineering / Mathematics / Physics / Computer Science. Qualified candidates should have experience in signal processing, feature selection, and machine learning techniques. Strong communication and organisational skills are also essential. You will be innovative, enthusiastic, able to work independently, and as part of a team.
Salary: £27,285 to £28,936 per annum (PhD near completion) OR £29,799 to £38,833 per annum (PhD Awarded)
Closing date: 22 March 2018
